Redstart Charity Work

To encourage giving and to engender fellow feeling, we have all participated in supporting charities such as; Genes for Jeans, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, The Lords Larder, St Margaret’s Hospice, and the Pakistan Flood Appeal, to name just a few.
Our recent topic on Brazil highlighted to staff and pupils how standards of living vary across the world, their projects showed the huge differences in wages, education and housing.

At Redstart we have supported the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal for the last 5 years. Families fill shoe boxes with supplies and treats for children who will have no presents at Christmas. Some of our classes also fill a shoe box and spend time thinking about children who are less fortunate than we are.

20112011 Appea2011 Appeal

We recently held an event to support the Japan Disaster Fund, where participants were asked to bring in their spare change which filled a giant map of Japan outlined on the school playground. The school choir sang a very moving rendition of "Where Have All The Flowers Gone".

Our own charity F.o.R.S, organises & holds regular events in order to raise funds for the school.
Parents, children and staff support our Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayres, as well as other fun days throughout the year.
