Redstart Charity Work
|
To encourage giving and to engender fellow feeling, we have all participated in supporting charities such as; Genes for Jeans, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, The Lords Larder, St Margaret’s Hospice, and the Pakistan Flood Appeal, to name just a few. Our recent topic on Brazil highlighted to staff and pupils how standards of living vary across the world, their projects showed the huge differences in wages, education and housing. |

At Redstart we have supported the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal for the last 5 years. Families fill shoe boxes with supplies and treats for children who will have no presents at Christmas. Some of our classes also fill a shoe box and spend time thinking about children who are less fortunate than we are. |

We recently held an event to support the Japan Disaster Fund, where participants were asked to bring in their spare change which filled a giant map of Japan outlined on the school playground. The school choir sang a very moving rendition of "Where Have All The Flowers Gone".
Our own charity F.o.R.S, organises & holds regular events in order to raise funds for the school. |
