Curriculum Enrichment

All children access English, Maths, Science, R.E, P.E, P.S.H.C.E (Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship, Education) & ICT every week. Design & Technology, History, Geography, Music and Art are usually taught in half- termly blocks allowing time for pupils to explore these subjects in detail. As well as a range of ICT resources, hands on resources & a well stocked library, we invite guests and plan school trips to bring our work to life.  Here are a few examples of the activities our children have experienced.

Music Lessons pay off.

There are a variety of opportunities for our pupils to have private music lessons within the school day. Currently we have teachers of the keyboard, guitar, drums and recorder who visit weekly to give lessons. Below, the guitar students perform in an assembly for KS2.

Graphic Novelists in Y5

Year 5 have had the exciting opportunity to use our new iPads to learn how to create Graphic Novels (Cartoon strips) using the App - 'Strip Design'.

Basing their ideas on the classic Dickens story  'A Christmas Carol', the children set about deciding on their characters, making a story board, and finally producing thier own Graphic Novel. Here is the work in progress!
